Hypnosis for Anxiety with a Teenager by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I find it disturbing to see what appears to be an epidemic of anxiety rearing its ugly head in our society.  I am even more troubled by the increase in children suffering from anxiousness.

Hypnosis and Teenagers

Recently I had a beautiful 15 year old girl come to me for a session of hypnosis for anxiety, PTSD, stress, and Trichotillomania.  What in the world is Trichotillomania?! The short definition is one who pulls out their own hair, eyelashes or eyebrows while experiencing stressful situations.

This young woman is skilled at soccer.  She’s skilled enough to play on the soccer team for Harvard or Yell.  She’s looking at both colleges for a soccer scholarship.  While she was in the seventh grade she began to experience physical symptoms of sever fatigue and wanted to sleep a lot.  Her coach at the time told her how worthless she was as a soccer player and she would not amount to anything.  As it turned this young athlete was severely anemic.  Thus the PTSD being brought on by a coach hounding this teenager and telling her how she would never amount to anything.

The Hypnosis Session

During the hypnosis session, we addressed all the issues this brave young athlete wanted to address with success.  We also took a look at her “path” in life that she wanted to know about.  This teenage girl wants to know what will happen at all times.  Many of us feel that way.  The fear of the unknown on our life’s journey often causes anxiety for many people. As I guided her along the path, we stopped at each curve and turn in the road for her to examine what was around each corner.  As she rounded each corner, she saw an obstacle in the road.  She was able to overcome each challenge on the path to her surprise.

Post Hypnosis Discussion

After the session, this brave young woman felt more in control of her confidence and felt more calm and relaxed.  The challenges she saw along her path are in reality the battles she faces on a daily bases.  She learned that she can indeed face the trials and tribulations that we all face and do it with confidence.

The Gift

The tools given to this determined teenager during her hypnosis session are tools that she will be able to use for the rest of her life.  Imagine the confirmation she now has in her ability to handle what surprises might come her way.  We talked about the fact that there is no way one can always know what will happen in our life.  If we knew everything that was going to happen before it happened, life would become very boring.  We would miss out on the pleasures of discovering new delightful events in life.

This bright teenager now has what she needs to face life’s unknown’s and she has the confidence in knowing that she has the tools she needs to succeed in life.

What is Bacopa Extract? by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I have recently found a product line that actually measures up to my standards on quality and living up to the promises they make.  That in itself is no easy feat for a company to do as far as I’m concerned.

One of the products that I have been using is their coffee.  This is not ordinary coffee by any means.  This coffee has health benefits that I have not found in other coffee products.

Focused Ingredient

I want to focus on is one ingredient in this coffee.  The ingredient is called Bacopa extract which comes from the Bacopa monnieri plant.  This herb has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries.  The common English name is “water hyssop”.

Use

Bacopa extract is most often used for memory enhancing.  Numerous clinical studies have determined that people who were given 125mg of Bacopa extract for 12 to 16 weeks showed memory improvement.  Studies also showed improvement in reduction of anxiety and depression in elderly test subjects.

Conclusion of the studies

The conclusion of the researchers was that Bacopa extract yielded significant improvement in mental control, logical memory and paired associated learning during the 12-week drug therapy.  It is efficacious in subjects with age-associated memory impairment.  Researchers found that  Bacopa monnieri is a potentially safe herb to enhance cognitive performance in the aging process and support of cognitive activity.

The side effects experienced by some test subjects were limited to gastrointestinal difficulties such as increased stool frequency, abdominal cramps, and nausea, none of which was proved to be significantly debilitation.  A few listed dry mouth and muscle fatigue.

Overall, research reported that Bacopa extract is safe and appears to be effective toward improving memory.

Enjoy your cup of coffee!

How to Please a Woman by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Men ask, “What techniques do I use to please a woman?  How do I please a woman?

I’m going to loosely tell you a story.  The foundation of the story is based on an ancient Tale of the Tantrik Priestess.

A young man came to see the Tantrik Priestess, asking her, “What do I need to do to make a woman happy? What techniques do I need to know?”

The Priestess looking at the young man said, “There is no technique greater than understanding the lover’s attitude.”

The young man was disappointed thinking that he would be given steps on techniques to please a woman.  He did not understand what the Priestess meant by understanding the lover’s attitude.

The Priestess looked into the young man’s eyes and smiled.

Lightly touching the young man’s hand she said, “With these hands, I reach out to touch the places deep within you that have been hurt and shriveled up like a leaf closing to the harsh winds.”

Touching his cheek and looking deep into his eyes, she told him, “I use my hands to sooth the parts of you that were once shamed or wronged. I use these hands to hold you in all of the places in which you have been dropped, so you may begin to build trust again.  As I look at you, I see both aspects of your being.”

She continued to tell the young man, “I see your soul, in all it’s vastness.  I see your life-force in its fullness.  I see them without judgement.  I offer these hands to soften your armor and caress the scars.”

She then continued, “My hands are here to heal through pleasure. It’s not me doing the pleasure TO you. The pleasure is yours and I simply witness it.  If you can receive, then healing begins…”

“Never mind the technique,” she continued, “For now just develop the attitude of the lover.  The attitude itself will teach you the techniques.”

When a woman knows that a man has taken the time to truly see her, then she is able to see the man.

When a woman is touched by the man and he feels her energy surrounding her, then she will be able to touch the man and feel his energy surrounding him.

When a woman knows she has been heard as she speaks her truth and tells him her heart’s desires, then she will be able to hear the man as he speaks his truth and reveals his deepest desires.

When a woman is allowed to begin to heal, then she will be open to helping the man heal as well.

To reach your lover, begin to learn the secrets of the lover’s attitude.  Once you do, she will want to learn the secrets of your attitude.  Love starts in the understanding of the heart.
