Eating Natural Foods Isn’t Always Healthy by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Beer, chicken wings and french fries are natural foods. (I don’t understand the fad with chicken wings. Very little meat, mostly fatty skin.) There is an organic version of each of these foods as well. So, I’m thinking that I need to take a look about the term ‘natural food’. Certainly, take a look from a different perspective.

Flash back 60 years ago

To clarify, I think we need to look at the combinations of natural foods. Cheese, ice cream, cheese burgers, and hot dogs all come in organic varieties as well. We don’t need to avoid these comfort foods, especially the cheese and macaroni! However, we must re-examine how we eat these foods.

Sixty to seventy years ago, our grandparents ate and drank these combinations. Yet, they were not fat. They didn’t have heart disease like we see in the general population today. So, what happened?

In the 1960s the average weight for a man between 20 to 39 years was around 166 for a man 68 inches tall or 5 feet 8 inches. Men 40-59: 176.4: 60 and older: 166.5.

Fifty years ago, the average woman was 5’3-5’4″ with a waist size of approximately 24-25″, she weighed about 120 pounds and wore a size 8.  (I remember being that size!)

Flash Forward

Today, the average American woman is 5’4″. She has a waist size of 34-35 inches and weighs between 140-150 pounds or more, with a dress size of 12-14.

The average American man today, (20 years and older) is 195.7 pounds. That’s about 30 pounds heaver.

In reality, the American women now weigh as much as a man did in 1960, 166. Dress size is 2x or more.

Therefore, according to statistics, over 70% of Americans adults are either overweight or obese. We Americans are not alone. Obesity is a world wide problem.

Results from a National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey shows:

  • In 2007-2008, 33.7% of Americans were obese.
  • Between 2015-2016,  39.6% of Americans were obese.
  • Then in 2007-2008, 5.7% of Americans were severely obese.
  • And in 2015-2016, 7.7% of Americans were severely obese.
  • In all, more than two-thirds of adults in the United States are overweight or obese today.
So, what happened?

There are a lot of excuses why people are over weight. “I have large bones.” No, you don’t! Our bones are pretty much standard.

“I have a thyroid problem.” Meanwhile, about 4.6 percent of the U.S. population ages 12 and older do have hypothyroidism, most cases are mild. That’s almost 5 people out of 100. Once again, not that many people are affected.

“It’s in my genes.” (Yes, your jeans are rather snug.) But, until very recently, genetics were assumed to contribute significantly to weight gain. Your body weight was assumed to be 40-70% genetic. However, it’s now considered to be only 10% of your body weight is genetically related.

Furthermore, there are considerably more excuses. But, let’s be honest, people have become lazy. We sit on the couch and watch TV and play video games. Moreover, poor food choices are made. Food is eaten in front of the TV and we don’t listen to our appetite. There is a disconnect with our natural appetite because we eat ‘mindlessly’. Most importantly, we don’t listen to our body. It tells us it’s full and we keep stuffing food in our mouth!

Now what do we do?

Listen to your body! More importantly, pay attention to your appetite! Don’t eat in front of the TV. Pay attention to the act of eating. Stop eating before you feel full. If you’re feel full, you have over eaten.

Remember, a portion size is the palm of your hand and the thickness of a deck of cards. This is important, we have been programed that a portion is a whopper supersized! No, it’s not!

Get up and out of the house! Movement is important in so many different ways. Sixty years ago, people were more active. They ate smaller portions of food. Food was prepared in the kitchen. Not picked up going through the drive through.

Stop asking your doctor for a pill to fix your problems. Pills have side effects. Many medications add weight to your body. Above all, take responsibility for your health!

Summary

Comfort foods are a part of society today and sixty years ago. But, we need to learn to ‘eat to live’, not ‘live to eat’!

For example, comfort foods are an occasional part of the menu. Likewise, smaller portions are imperative to maintain good health.

Next, take a walk after eating. In doing so, burn off a calorie or two. See the outdoors in person, instead of seeing it on TV. You may discover that you actually like the outdoors. Birds singing, turtles meandering along, lizards running around, they are very entertaining when you watch them in action.

We can do this! Take back your health! Get your life back! Actually live your life! Don’t let it pass you by. In the end, you don’t want to look back and realized you missed out on life. Most importantly, you don’t want to look back and realize you wasted time on sitting in front of the TV. Those video games distracted you from living a full life.

One last thought

If you’re having problems with motivation to lose weight and become more active, try hypnosis. Seek out a certified hypnotist. No, hypnosis is not done on the phone! Read my articles under the hypnosis section on weight loss.

Memorial Day by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. It’s also my birthday. It was a memorable day for my mother, that’s for certain! Having said this, I want to indulge myself and share some thoughts with you.

Birthday Thoughts

A man contacted me recently about some health issues. As a Natural Health Doctor, I ask a lot of questions. After all, I have to know the whole story to consult with a client. One of the questions I asked him is, “How old are you?” He didn’t want to talk about that. His answer was to tell me that he was under a certain decade.

I informed this man that in his case, being older was a plus. A younger man wouldn’t have faired very well in the same circumstances. I also told him that the Centurion age group is the fastest growing group worldwide. Furthermore, most are very healthy.

You think that women are more secretive about their ages than men. However, that’s not the case. In American culture, youth is looked upon as being the ultimate stage in life. I have no idea why we Americans think that! Youth has no wisdom or life experiences. In other words, the only thing youth has going for it, is being clueless. Other cultures have it right when they value age and wisdom over youth.

Reflection

There are certain times that we tend to reflect on life. Birthdays are one of those times. So, today I’m reflection on my life. Therefore, I’m sure you’re thinking, ‘she’s reflecting on her past and her youth.’ Sorry to disappoint you, but, no. I’m not thinking about the past. It’s over with.

My thoughts are on today, this moment in time. Similarly, I’m thinking about the opportunities that have come my way in the last couple of weeks.

I may have the chance to work with women and children who were involved in Human Trafficking. I hope it works out. Therefore, I truly believe that hypnosis can help them. I have women as clients who have been raped, held hostage and had attempted murder towards them. These women come in with sadness, stress and fear on their faces. They leave feeling that the weight of the world has been lifted off their shoulders. Hypnosis is a great tool to add to your box.

Consequently, men have been raped more often than you think! Sadly to say, in America, the military is the biggest culprit. As a result, young boys are sought out as well by pedophiles.

Yesterday, I received a request to participate in a book signing in September of this year. My talk is on my book, Guilty Prayers and I will autograph the books being sold. How cool is that!

Attitude!

Life is to be lived to the fullest. I didn’t come to this life for it to be mediocre! In other words, live your live! Stay in the moment. There are no, could’ve, should’ve or would’ve. To live life to the fullest, you don’t have to travel outside of your own backyard. Remember, Dorothy learned that when she returned from Oz!

Therefore, age is just a number. As far as the Universe is concerned, there is no time. Time isn’t important. I know! You’re saying, “I have to get to work on time!” That’s not what I’m talking about at all. I think you know that.

For instance, take your watch off. Stop looking at the clock on your phone or computer. As a result, after you get over the stress of not watching time, you begin to relax. That’s to say, you begin to live your life as it’s intended.

Actually, your internal clock will take over. I know what time it is without looking at the clock. When I do look at a clock, I’m very close to the literal time on the watch.

Wrapping Things Up

In conclusion, celebrate your life! Life is what you make of it! In addition, you’re not a number! You are unique! There’s only one of you in the whole Universe. How amazing is that!

It’s my birthday! Therefore, I’m indulging myself today. I’m eating a chocolate chip cookie or two!

Oh, I know, you want to know how old I am? I’m not really sure. However, it’s somewhere between being a handful and being a free spirit. In other words, I’m unique and I love this time in my life! I love this moment in time! I march at my own beat!

Inspiration by Janet Lynas, PH.D., N.H.D.

Inspiration means to be inspired or to inhale oxygen into the lungs. When were you last  mentally stimulated to do or feel something? Especially to do something creative. Or to draw in a deep breath?

However, I know you think that there’s a big difference between the two meanings. But, is there? You have a creative inspired moment and you take in a deep breath as the light bulb turns on! The aha moment!  The sense of satisfaction welling up inside of you.

Yes, there is a difference between the two. This article explores the creative process that affects our spiritual lives. Having said this, we look at how the creative inspiration affects the physical as well.

Inspired

Inspiration is easy for me. I look at the stars in the sky and wonder about all that there is beyond what we see. For instance, I think life is in all parts of the universe. Just because we don’t have proof, doesn’t mean it’s not there. I think we are arrogant to believe that we are the only living creatures in existence. But, life on other planets is not what this article is about.

I find creativity in almost anything I do or see. However, there are moments that are truly more stimulating than others. The first time I saw a live birth was incredible! I find the whole process of life forming from a sperm and egg amazing. This life grows and is now a human is pushing its way into the world.

Mediation

I learned that mediation was a way of life for me early on. You mediate when you daydream. No joke, daydreams are a form of meditation. Sitting in that fishing boat being in the moment is mediation.

You ask, “What is the point of meditation?” Mediation allows us to connect is a higher consciousness. That higher awareness is known by many different names. God, I AM THAT I AM, Creator Source, All That There Is, it doesn’t matter what name you chose to call your expressive energy.

Prayer is the most common method of meditation.  First, when you pray, you go deep inside of yourself, you become quiet. Second, you speak from the heart. Thirdly, you listen to that soft voice that comes from your heart.

Once you open your mind and heart to listen to what is being spoken to you, inspiration is allowed to present itself. It’s in that moment you are opened to creativity.

Find Your Inspiration

Find your creative voice:

  1. Move forward in life. For instance, get out in nature. Walk, run, skip, hop, jump, it doesn’t matter. Be playful. Just get the blood flowing.
  2. Next, be open to learning new things. For example, take a different way to work. In doing, this you see new sights. In addition, to learning new things, you’re creating new neural pathways.
  3. Similarly, make new friends. Expand your social network. As you learn these people’s stories, you learn new information. You get new ideas.
  4. We know that there are no limits to the possibilities, but reign it in. Too many choices are overwhelming. Besides, we only need one flash of innovation to get us moving.
  5. Lastly, trust in yourself. Don’t look outside of yourself to know your own worth. For instance, imagination comes from you. No one else can give it to you.
Summary

Yes, I hear you say, but, “I’m not creative!” Sure you are. You have to pay attention to yourself. That’s called, “being in the moment.” Stay in the moment. In addition, don’t worry about tomorrow or yesterday either. The moment you are in is all that there is.  This moment is your inspiration!

You experience the joy of your individuality during moments of inspiration. The satisfaction of this new idea brings pleasure to you. You take in a deep breath, feel your heart beat just a little faster as you indulge in the moment.

To be inspired doesn’t mean that something big and life changing is happening. For instance, most often it’s the little moments of satisfaction, completing a job well done. Knowing that life is good. All is well with you. The pleasure of having completed the day and watching the sun set.

I’m inspired right now as I write this article. In addition, my generator is doing its weekly test run and a crew with heavy equipment has pulled into the neighborhood. Inspiration comes during moments of chaos too.

Embrace life! Pay attention to what’s going on in your life! If you do, you will see and feel those creative moments. They are there. You just have to be aware.

Tea Time by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Tea is the most widely consumed beverage throughout the world. I know we Americans like our coffee, but tea is rated the number one drink. As a Natural Health Doctor, I know that teas provide a medicinal benefit for our bodies. However, in this article I will take a look at the less known teas along with their benefits.

We know teas may help with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes; encourage weight loss; lower cholesterol; and bring about mental alertness. Many teas have antimicrobial qualities. You know the benefits of green tea and chamomile tea. Therefore, I’m talking about teas that are not as well known.

Look at less known teas for health

The three main varieties of tea are green, oolong, and black tea. Having said this, did you know they are made from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. You will note a difference in their colors, tastes, and properties. The difference is distinguished from how and where they’re grown. Herbal teas are a variety of plants and they are not truly ‘Teas’, but herbal infusions.

Ok, let’s take a look now at some of these delicious teas.

  1. Chaga tea is a mushroom tea thought to boost the immune system. It’s believed to help prevent cancers such as breast, liver, uterus, and liver. This tea is used to improve energy levels and to aid in digestion. Chaga tea has a subtle, distinct flavor that is quite unique. It’s earthy and somewhat bitter, but not unpleasant. It tastes warm even when consumed cold.
  2. Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea. It’s neither a green tea or a black tea. Being a Camellia sinensis, Oolong is both a green tea and black tea depending on how it’s processed. Studies have shown drinking Oolong tea helps in weight loss. This tea also helps to keep blood glucose in check. Generally speaking, the greener the tea, the less time it has to oxidate. Thus, the taste is milder. Oolong teas tend to have mostly a sweet, toasty, and flowery, taste.
  3. Rooibos tea aids in regenerating the liver, lowers cholesterol, and aids in reducing gastrula distress. Rooibos is an acquired taste. There is an earthy quality to it. Rooibos tea comes in two forms, red and green. Green Rooibos has considerably more antioxidants than red rooibos. It is in a colder state, and its polyphenols are still intact. Because of the polyphenols, Rooibos tea has an anti-inflammatory quality to it. Rooibos is a bush tea.
  4. Juniper Berry tea with its piney aroma is often used for their diuretic properties, due to the terpinen-4-ol found in their essential oil. Having said this, the tea aids in digestion and helps with urinary tract infections. Juniper berry tea taste much like gin. So, if you like gin, this is the tea for you! Gin is flavored with Juniper berries.
  5. Tulsi tea is made from the Ayurvedic herb tulsi, also called “holy basil.” It is native to India where it is valued as an energizing yet calming beverage and sacred plant. Tulsi has a clove-like aroma and peppery flavor. Therefore, it’s mostly used for its calming affect.

Just a few more to talk about

Moving along to the last few herbal teas for this article:

  1. Elderflower comes from the flower of the Elder tree. Elderflower reduces mucus in the sinuses and lungs and also treats coughs, bronchitis, and asthma. This tea also helps remove toxins from the body through urine and sweat. Be certain that you buy your elderflowers from a trusted source. This plant has a chemical similar to cyanide that can be dangerous if used incorrectly. American elderflower also known as sweet elder or black elderberry, it produces berries with a flavor slightly sweeter than those of the European elderflower. This plant is musky and fragrant.
  2. Cardamom is an evergreen plant that grows in Guatemala and India. Cardamom is used when you want to relieve a cough and need a good expectorant. This tea is excellent at detoxifying the body. It’s especially good at removing excess caffeine from your system. Cardamom’s flavor is similar to ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Milk Thistle and dandelion teas are gentle ways to cleanse the liver and the blood. This rather bland tea increases Glutathione Antioxidant Activity. Glutathione is considered the body’s master antioxidant and vital for effective liver functioning. Our ancestors used these teas as a spring tonic.
  4. Saffron is native to Greece or Southwest Asia and comes from the flower of a saffron crocus plant, which is a relative to the lily family. It’s a yellow-orange spice used to color fabric and foods. Research shows that saffron tea can improve the health of the eyes as well as slow the progress of diseases that cause blindness. The flower contains a compound called Crocin and is a powerful antioxidant. This compound is so powerful that it can offer us protection from certain types of cancer. Saffron can help with insomnia, PMS, depression, memory loss, and asthma. Saffron falls into the category of exotic spices. In teas, saffron produces a refreshing aroma and an earthy flavor.
Summary

This is a short list of lesser known herbal teas boosting health benefits. Explore the mushroom teas and exotic spices. For instance, Pu-erh tea made from fermented and aged leaves and considered a black tea, it helps reduce weight gain and lowers LDL cholesterol (you know, the bad kind). Jiaogulan (also known as Gynostemma) it is an herb in the same family as cucumbers and melons.  It is a climbing vine that is often referred to as the “immortality” herb in traditional Chinese medicine.

Explore the wonders of different exotic teas. Research the flavors and enjoy a variety. Give your taste buds something new to experience. Get out of your culinary rut!

Vaccine Shedding by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

You just got jabbed with the vaccine. You feel proud and safe. You have your badge of honor. But are you safe? Are you safe to be around other people?

What is vaccine shedding?

Vaccine shedding is a concept called “viral shedding” or “vaccine shedding”. It’s a process of the body releasing viral particles from a vaccine and possibly creating a risk of infection to others.

Therefore, the only way for vaccine shedding to happen is from a live-attenuated vaccine.  This  means the vaccine contains a weakened version of a germ that causes a disease. These vaccines work by letting the virus replicate inside a person’s body enough times to stimulate an immune response, but does not cause the disease itself.

Currently these vaccines in the U.S. are:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
  • Chickenpox
  • Shingles
  • Rotavirus
  • Nasal flu spray
  • Typhoid

However, there have been cases of shedding reported with the flu vaccine which is a dead virus. There have been a few reports connected to the Chickenpox vaccine and Polio vaccine.

This brings us to the controversy about the Coronavirus-19 vaccine.

Is Coronavirus-19 listed as a vaccine?

The Coronavirus-19 is listed as an “experimental drug”. It is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Read my article on the development regime of vaccines.

However, you will see some claims that the Coronavirus-19 is approved by the FDA. Do your research and you will see that the FDA does not use the word approved.

Does Insurance cover adverse reactions to the vaccine?

Contrary to popular belief, existing health insurance policies are unlikely to cover the cost of vaccination and adverse reactions. They typically don’t cover experimental drugs. Insurance sources state that only policies designed purely for the Covid-19 vaccination process would help bear the costs.

Furthermore, CNBC reports:

  • Under the PREP Act, companies like Pfizer and Moderna have total immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong with their vaccines.
  • A little-known government program provides benefits to people who can prove they suffered serious injury from a vaccine.
  • That program rarely pays, covering just 29 claims over the last decade.

As a result, these pharmaceutical companies have total immunity from lawsuits involving adverse reactions and death due to this experimental drug. (Convenient isn’t it?)

In February, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar invoked the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act. This act protects the pharmaceutical companies from legal litigation.

Credit to the above information given to: (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/16/covid-vaccine-side-effects-compensation-lawsuit.html)

However, in the past, pharmaceutical companies typically weren’t offered much liability protection under the law. Why are they being given total immunity now?

Yes, there’s more!

Last evening I was privileged to be on a zoom meeting with Dr. Christiane Northrup. Dr. Northrup is listed as one of the top 13 trusted doctors in the U.S. Or, she was until she started giving reliable information about the Coronavirus-19 vaccine. Now, she’s being attacked by the establishment for giving accurate information. She’s been blocked on Instagram, accused of giving false information and demonized for educating the public on this controversial topic.

Dr. Northrup is only one of many physicians who is being attacked for educating the public on the truth about the Coronavirus. I find it interesting that a doctor who is listed as one of the most trusted healthcare providers in the country can fall so quickly from grace for speaking the truth.

What are the statistics on the vaccine?

That’s a good question! This latest data is at least three months old. Vaccine Adverse Reporting Event System (VARES) data showed a nearly 4000% increase in deaths after the experimental drug is given.

Therefore, the numbers are not allowed to be talked about and reporters are band from reporting the actual numbers. Having said this, these are the latest numbers I could find.

According to the VARES data, which is at least three months behind there were almost 4,000 reported deaths. In the past, vaccines were halted at less than 100 deaths reported. Using the calculating formula, it’s thought that the numbers could be as high as 50,000.

Informed medical observers note that VAERS only captures anywhere from 1% to 10% of actual deaths or symptoms. That means anywhere from 33,000 to 330,000 Americans have already died after taking covid-19 vaccines.

Conspiracy Theory?

That’s up for you to decide. However, I encourage you to do your own fact finding. Keeping in mind that you will have to dig deep to find the facts. Why? Because, mainstream media is bought and paid for. Having said this, mainstream media is now being caught in the propaganda disinformation they are dishing out. This causes the public to look to other reliable sources. It’s there, you just have to look for it.

Last evening after listening to Dr. Northrup talk with our group, I left the meeting feeling distraught. Why? Because, she confirmed the facts I had already found on my own.

There was free flowing conversation between Dr. Northrup and the people attending the meeting. I’m not sure of the total number of people in attendance, but I know it was several hundred informed Americans. In reality, the number was anticipated to be over 1,000.

We are in a world wide crisis. Not from the Coronavirus-19, but from our national leaders in each country and from the Medical Association. I can’t help, but wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes?

I encourage you to look at the posted information below. If you only look at one, let it be the first one listed. Listen to the whole report.

The one thing I do know, the truth always comes out!
