Flu Vaccine Program Failure by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

It’s flu season again. In my community there were advertisements to get your flu shot in August. Seems a little early to get a flu vaccine you might think. However, it takes about two weeks after getting the flu vaccine before enough antibodies build up in your body to protect against the flu. Still think it’s too early? So do I!  Boosters with the flu shot is encouraged throughout the flu season. I remember when only one inoculation was required for the flu months.

Facts about flu vaccine

In the United States, flu is detected throughout the year. Therefore, maybe the flu vaccine in August isn’t so far out of line. But, the increase in flu is between October and December. The peak is between December to February according to the CDC.

Go to the CDC information site on the flu and the flu vaccine. Once you read the information, you may be confused. Don’t be discouraged. Let’s look at what’s in the flu vaccine.

The vaccine contains flu viruses that are inactivated, or dead. The presence of these inactive viruses triggers the body’s natural defense mechanism. Therefore, the immune system is stimulated to produce antibodies to fight these viruses. They cannot cause the flu. The nasal spray contains live viruses, but they are weakened, or attenuated, so that they, too, cannot cause the flu

Ok, so what’s in the vaccine?

We are told formaldehyde is a chemical typically present in the human body, it is a product of healthy digestive function.

However, formaldehyde is also a colorless, strong-smelling gas used in making building materials and many household products. It is used in pressed-wood products, such as particleboard, plywood, and fiberboard; glues and adhesives; permanent-press fabrics; paper product coatings; and certain insulation materials. It is also used to make other chemicals. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want this in my body.

Aluminum salts are adjuvants which are supposed to help the body develop a stronger immune response against the virus in the vaccine.

Aluminum salts (hydroxide or phosphate) are the only adjuvants broadly licensed for inclusion in human vaccines. They have been widely used for 70 years and injected into more than 1 billion people worldwide.

Aluminum causes weakness and deformation in the bone structure with crippling effects. In other words, toxicity can result in aching muscles, speech problems, anemia, digestive problems, lowered liver function, colic and impaired kidney function. Are you concerned yet?

More ingredients

Thimerosal is a preservative, it keeps vaccines from becoming contaminated. This ingredient is present in a multi-dose bottle. Multi-dose bottles have more than one dose in a bottle.

The pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly, back in 1929, did a study on Thimerosal. Their test revealed horrific results. It showed that 100% of the kids injected with trace amounts of Merthiolate — the trade name for thimerosal — died from meningitis.

On January 5, 1982, the FDA published its notice of proposed rule-making regarding thimerosal. The finding is that at the cellular level, thimerosal had been found to be more toxic for human epithelial cells in vitro than mercuric chloride, mercuric nitrate, and merbromim (mercurochrome).

The inactivated influenza viruses present in vaccines are usually grown inside fertilized chicken eggs, where the virus replicates. Then, the manufacturers separate the virus from the egg and include it in the vaccine. If you’re allergic to eggs, don’t take the vaccine.

Gelatin is present in the flu shot as a stabilizer. It keeps the vaccine effective from the point of production to the moment of use.

Antibiotics are used in flu vaccines keep bacteria from growing during the production and storage of the products.

How effective is the flu vaccine?

Look at the CDC website on how effective the vaccine is. It talks about two general types of studies are used to determine how well influenza vaccines work: randomized controlled trials and observational studies. Basically, you think there’s a lot of double talk on how the studies are done. I agree with you, it is double talk.

I’m trained to look at Evidence Base Performance information. Let’s look at the chart from the CDC on effectiveness of the vaccine.

Bottom Line It!

The CDC says that the effectiveness rate of the flu vaccine is 10%! Now you know the truth! The flu vaccine has a 90% failure rate!

Moreover, as bad as these figures are, there’s some reason to think they might be intentionally inflated.

We know for a fact that the public has been mislead on the facts of Covid-19. Those numbers have been inflated. Anthony Fauci is proven to mislead the public, along with others.

Summary

Don’t take my word for it, do your own research. I worked, battled and  questioned the medical field for 47 years. As a nurse, I saw what goes on behind the scenes. Doctors are harassed by the AMA to fall in line, or suffer the consequences. Since most doctors today work for a hospital company, they are bullied by their employers. Why? It’s about money or as the saying goes in the medical field, “A head in the bed.” The hospitals want the beds filled. Otherwise, revenue is down.

Time for Reflection by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I make a terrible patient! I’m down for the count, making me pause and think about my life. You see, I pulled the muscles in my right hip and can’t walk very well, it’s been over a week. My injury is not an interesting story. However, I do have plenty of time to think about life and current events. Therefore, reassessment of my life is taking place.

Thinking Can Be Dangerous!

However, on the other hand, a mind is a terrible thing to waste. I think there was a commercial on TV about that years ago. Anyway, life can surprise one at times. For instance, this global quarantine has disconnected people from the ‘rat race’ and from each other. Thinking about the effects of quarantine on one’s health is an interesting topic.

This quarantine is impacting three important areas of mental health: emotional well-being, psychological well-being and social well-being. Therefore, quarantine has left many people confined to their homes leading to unforeseen risks.

Do you know, according to one research paper, that extended quarantine causes some serious health issues?

Reading one summary paper on quarantine in The Lancet, it’s reported that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), confusion and anger are some of the psychological results.

Effects of Long-term Quarantine

Certainly, there are other stressors to take note of. The list is long, but I’ll focus on just a few key topics.

  1. Prolonged isolation can lead to depression and substance abuse
  2. Most importantly, financial loss
  3. In addition, fear of becoming infected and loss of health is a big one
  4. Included is the fear of not having enough supplies – food and money for example
  5. Next, is boredom and frustration with the interruptions in our daily lives, feeling stuck
  6. PTSD is reported four times higher in children in prolonged quarantine
Above All

You do have resources to rely on to help you through an extended quarantine. Here are a few suggestions to assist you:

First, stay active as much as possible. For instance, now is a good time to tackle some of those projects you’ve been putting off. Why not reorganize your closet? Clean the garage, throw out broken toys, clear out the clutter, just to name a few activities you can do. Make that list! Check the chores off! You’ll have a sense of accomplishment!

Exercise as much as possible. Any type of movement is good. Put on your favorite music and dance! Take a walk in your neighborhood! Moreover, you may actually meet some of your neighbors if they are outside.

A few months ago, I closed out all my social media accounts. Moreover, I’m happier since I did. I’m not exposed to the negative talk, anger and fears. In addition, my family is actually communicating more with each other.

More ideas
  • Eat your meals together as a family! If you’re single, use the good dishes! Play background music. Treat yourself as that special person you are.
  • Talk with friends and family on the phone, zoom, FaceTime. Write a letter to someone special, the old fashion way, by hand and mail it.
  • Check in with family members who are at risk for depression more often.
  • Read a light-hearted book or watch a funny movie – remember to laugh!
  • Work on a hobby – if you don’t have one, now is a good time to explore your interest.
Summary

The year 2020 is rapidly coming to an end. Plan ahead for 2021. Most importantly, current circumstances are not going to change in the next week or so. In other words, plan ahead on how your family with navigate the upcoming holidays. Therefore, traditions are evolving and transforming to reflect the times.

I know it seems like this quarantine will never end. However, this too shall pass. Nothing stays the same. Life is forever changing. Above all, remember, change is not bad. We are adapting to current times.

2020 Part 3 by Janet Lynas, Ph.D.,N.H.D.

Astrology is fascinating to me. However, I admit I know very little about it. We will not go into depth on the terminology. Nor will the ins and outs of astrology be reviewed. Instead, I am giving you a topical look at the practice of astrology.

I do know the gravitational pull from the moon does affect life here on earth. Any nurse or doctor working in obstetrics sees the results from a full moon. In other words, there are more babies born during this time of the month.

In addition, the emergency room has an influx of mental health patients. I have worked both areas during my nursing career. During my last three years with the Veterans Administration (VA), I worked in the outpatient mental health department. Our outpatient department and inpatient department were both busy during full moons. Police officers know this to be true as well!

Astrology, really?

Astrology is defined as:

the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world.

What’s the difference between astrology and astronomy?

Astrology is the study of movement and position of planets. It’s believed to have influences on events and in the lives of humans. In other words, the main difference between astronomy and astrology is, astronomy is a study of natural science and astrology is considered a pseudo-science.

Understanding what astrology entails takes dedication and commitment. Moreover, in the study of astrology, patterns between planets and relationships are observed. Many people use that knowledge as a tool to find meaning in events that happen in their lives. It falls more in the category of metaphysics, the study of that which is beyond the physical.

What can astrology tell us?

Astrology discovers our needs and may also provide us with the best ways to accomplish our goals. The belief is, astrology can predict the major happenings of the future. Astrology gives insight into the personality. It reveals the deeper part of one’s self.

Is astrology always right? There is definitely something to be said about the power of the planets! Astrology can be a very helpful tool in not only being able to understand ourselves better, but it can also shed some light on why we end up going through certain things .

Countries have their own astrological histories as well. I listen to podcast on astrology at times. In doing this, I have learned a great deal about the workings of the universe. In addition, I am amazed with the accuracy of some of these astrologers. Listening to some of the predictions forecast at the beginning of a year gives one insight on what’s coming. Going back to listen to these predictions at the end of a year, is eye opening in many cases.

Is studying astrology wrong?

I have given a lot of thought to this through the years. Childhood teachings have deep roots. Therefore, at times, it’s been a little difficult to open my mind to other teachings. We don’t have to embrace these teaching. However, I think it’s important to understand other philosophical teachings. I have a better understanding of other’s beliefs by learning all I can about their spiritual practices.

Currently two religions and two philosophies are deeply rooted in astrology systems. The Jews and Muslims both heavily practice astrology. Hindu and Buddhists are both philosophies. They too have a heavily practiced astrology system.

What do I believe about astrology? My personal beliefs are not important. What is important is that we have an open mind. Above all, it’s imperative that we understand and respect other people’s beliefs.

Close the door!

Closed minded people rob themselves of knowledge. Therefore, closed minded people are among a large group of bigots. You miss out on the richness and traditions of the people around the world.

Wars fought and lives lost because of closed minded individuals. My beliefs are not the only right ones. Neither are yours. Close the door to your mind and you’re lost to all truth!

I choose to keep my mind open to all possibilities. These teachings do not have to be incorporated into my ideology. But, understanding the perspective of other’s is important.

So, where does this leave us?

Above all, we have the choice to explore new thoughts. We have the opportunity to learn and grow. I choose to grow and learn as much as I possibly can. I hope you make the choice to open the door to knowledge.

Reach out and grab all the tools you can to make your life richer and fuller! A new year is rapidly approaching. What will you do with it? Moreover, do you move forward, or stay stuck in limited knowledge?

In conclusion

The definition of insanity is:

2020 Part 2 by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D

Each new year is anticipated with high expectations. A new decade is bringing with it even higher hopes and dreams. 2020 surprised us! Actually, it brought the world down to its knees! In addition, life as we know it, is forever more changed. However, I’m looking ahead to the possibilities of 2021.

Looking ahead to political and global changes

Life is not written in stone! Therefore, we make the decisions on how we live life. How do we make wise decisions? That’s a good question! Moreover, there are times I have no idea. But, let’s take a look at the possibilities.

First, I write this article before the elections in the U.S. Many people say this is the most important election of all times. In addition, the last election caused a bigger division in our country. Politicians are still in shock that the Americans booted many of them out of office. Americans said, “Enough!” We elected a business man to be our president. That sent shock waves throughout the Senate and House of Representatives.

I’m not writing about the politics in my country, but setting a background on the changes in my country. I’m going to say, “This election tomorrow is not the most important election of all times.” Shocking isn’t it? In addition to that statement, “This is not the end of times!” The American people survive, just as the peoples of the world are survivors.

Secondly, the global economy is changing. Moving to a global currency is underway. It most likely will take a few more years before it’s activated. However, it is happening sooner than later.

We are a one world community. Now we must learn to work together.

Change your focus

The way we live life is rapidly changing. These are the areas you need to watch as change unfolds.

First of all, how we practice medicine is changed. In other words, your doctor’s visit will be more common on telemedicine connections. Telemedicine is not a new approach to medical care. It’s used often in the mental health field. There are fewer doctors and telemedicine is used to cover a larger geographic area. Your doctor’s visit is now on a computer or iPad or TV. You will have a conversation with your doctor or healthcare provider over these devices instead of going into the provider’s office.

Therefore, healthcare now focuses more on preventive medicine. It’s easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix one. This is the way medicine should be practiced. Not on fixing a issue.

Next, robotics is currently used in surgical procedures. However, we will see this area of care expand. Robotic surgery is less invasive and recovery time is shorter.

In addition, genomics is advanced to new heights. Your genomic information is now being used to custom design your treatment.  Diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and immune illnesses are making great advances in genomics. Testing is available to determine how effective drugs will be in an individual’s treatment. Doctors will no longer have to guess which drug is working best for a patient. Swabbing the mouth for DNA is an advancement to determine which drug will work best and it will help to prevent adverse reactions to medications.

Open your mind to the possibilities

I know many people don’t like change. But, life is not stagnant, nor do we want it to be. How well you do in life is determined by how open you are to change.

Common character traits are:

  1. Open Minded People Are Curious.
  2. We Say “Yes” to opportunity.
  3. These Are Creative Individuals.
  4. They Don’t Cling to Their Opinions.
  5. Time Is Taken To Reflect.

I am an open minded person. I see all sides of an issue. This gives me an advantage. Thinking outside of the box comes easily for me. I look past the illusions to see what the future has in store for us. Therefore, insight is important to me. Being an open minded person will give you an advantage. Look around you! See the signs of change that is coming.

In Summary

2021 is bringing all kinds of possibilities. I am predicting that you are wise enough to turn difficult situations into an advantage for yourself. Keep your eyes and ears open! Stay ahead of the times by being proactive. Life is fluid! Stay flexible! Be adaptable!

In part three, I will talk about the spiritual or metaphysical energies. I am talking about the predictions being made. You will know how these signs and how they will affect you.

2020 Part 1 by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

The year 2020 is coming to a close in a couple of months. This year is challenging to say the least. COVID 19 involves the entire planet. Many countries are still under quarantine. However, is 2020 the most challenging year globally with pandemics?

Looking Back

Once an epidemic disease spreads beyond a country’s borders, it’s then officially classified as a pandemic. Communicable diseases will always exist. The shift from agrarian life 10,000 years ago created communities, making epidemics more possible. Close living quarters make the spread of disease easier.

Therefore, what are the deadliest pandemics through history?

  1. Cholera can go from asymptomatic to a fatality in just under three hours. Cholera is a diarrheal disease caused by a bacterium that is usually spread through water or food systems lacking proper sanitation. There have been pandemics in South Asia (1961), Africa (1971), and the Americas (1991). Every year, there are as many as four million cases of cholera with more than 100,000 dying as a result.
  2. Ebola comes with a high mortality rate, killing almost half of those infected. However, mortality rates can run as high as 90 percent. The deadliest Ebola outbreak spread out of West Africa in March 2014. It killed five times more individuals than all previous outbreaks combined. Cases were reported in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Spain. Full containment of the virus didn’t occur until 2016 two years later. (I live in Arkansas in the U.S. Ebola was seen in one of our larger communities during this time.)
  3. Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease caused by parasites leaving those infected with flu-like symptoms. Malaria remains one of the world’s most serious killers, infecting more than 200 million in 2016 and killing almost 500,000.
  4. Tuberculosis is a deadly respiratory infection that can take two forms: latent TB and active TB. Latent TB isn’t contagious, and one’s immune system can often fight it off. In fact, one-third of the world’s population has latent TB. Active TB is highly contagious.
  5. HIV/AIDS – Scientists believe that the virus crossed over from primates to humans in Africa during the early 20th century. The disease didn’t gain traction in popular culture until the early 1980s when several gay men in New York and California exhibited strange cases of pneumonia and cancer.
  6. Syphilis a sexually transmitted disease that first appears with a benign chancre at the spot of infection. Secondary syphilis presents with a widespread rash and swollen lymph nodes. The bacteria enters a latent stage before surfacing as tertiary syphilis, which leads to neuromuscular degeneration, blindness, and dementia.
  7. Polio is exceedingly rare today since Jonas Salk developed a polio vaccine. Prior to the creation of a vaccine, polio was easily transmitted in an infected individual’s stool or via droplets when sneezing. The disease is notorious for paralyzing individuals, requiring them to live the rest of their lives in iron lungs or today on respirators. Paralysis caused by polio can’t be reversed. (I personally know two men who had polio as children. Their lives have been very difficult.)
  8. Spanish flu was caused by one of the deadliest 20th-century pathogens, infecting 500 million individuals worldwide.
  9. Smallpox is a vicious deforming agent, leaving those infected with noticeable sores across their bodies. In conjunction with other Old World diseases like the flu and measles, smallpox went on to kill almost 90 percent of the Native American population.
  10. Bubonic Plague symptoms are devastating starting with fever, sweating and progressing to blackish-blue boils across the groin. If the boils aren’t lanced, they grow and people would die from the toxic buildup. However, lancing the buboes was often just as deadly and could lead to the pathogen becoming airborne. The mortality rate with this disease was upward of 70 percent.

I find it interesting that people no longer seem concerned about these diseases. Diseases like smallpox, polio, measles, and mumps are now starting to rear their ugly heads. As more and more people are not being vaccinated against these infections, they are starting to make a come back.

Coming back to today’s topic

How do we know what the facts are concerning COVID 19? The evidence is strong that the numbers have been inflated. Mainstream news media is pumping up the numbers to keep their readers coming back for information. Fear is a strong controlling factor. It’s a well known fact in the U.S. that covid is being put on death certificates when there is evidence to the contrary. Families are fighting to have this taken off death certificates.

In addition, the reporting of new cases is fictitious. In one of our communities it was reported there were over 300 new cases. Reality is, this was not true. I know nurses who are being pressured to report a covid case, when in reality it’s a lie. They are standing strong and refusing to do so.

Test are being counted, not people. I know that covid testing is done on patients having elective surgery more than once. I will give you an example that I know of. A patient having a knee replacement was tested two weeks before surgery. The test was negative. The same patient was tested again a few days before surgery and this time it was positive. However, the patient had not been ill and insisted on retesting. The third test was done forty-five minutes after the second. It was negative. These test were counted as three different people.

There is strong evidence that many of the covid test are giving a high rate of false positives. Why is this? Money is a factor here in the U.S. States receive money from the federal government for each case reported. The hospitals get a large sum of money for each hospitalized case.

Being a medical care giver, I have many friends who are doctors. Each of these doctors are concerned about the false reporting and inflated numbers. A doctor friend told me this week, he’s concerned about losing his practice because of the shutdown and regulations placed on his practice.

Summary

Yes, there are conspiracy theories running wild. I encourage you to look up the facts from news sources that are trust worthy. The mainstream news media has long proven that the information given to the public is to manipulate the population.

I encourage you to think for yourself. As my mother used to tell me, “God gave you a brain. Use it!”

In part two of this series, we will look at another area of 2020.

The Wandering Mind by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Do you let your mind wander? Or do you stay in your head, over thinking things?

I tend to stay in my head too much. At times it’s hard to get off the merry-go-round of over- thinking a situation.  I finally learned to let go, now I allow my mind to wander taking me to unlimited possibilities.

What are the mental health benefits?

Show me the facts! Where is the evidence that a daydreaming mind is healthy?

  1. When your mind wanders, you’re allowing your creativity to emerge.
  2. Zone out, let the answer come in.
  3. Day dreaming allows you to destress.
  4. Research suggests that a wandering mind can serve important functions for our performance and well-being.

For instance, most of my writing takes place in my mind before I put a single word on paper. My inspiration comes from some of the most odd situations. This article is a good example! While cooking a meal for a friend, this topic just popped into my mind. I give myself permission to let go. When I do this, I become very creative, I see all kinds of possibilities.

For instance, by letting go and opening up the mind to the possibilities, you’re able to walk through the door of opportunity.

My roaming mind gave me the inspiration to take experiences from my life and other peoples lives to write my book Guilty PrayersTherefore, my rambling mind was able to create a self help book that gives people the tools to work through difficult situations.

How to let go

First, make time to let your mind explore. For instance, while you’re folding clothes, a boring task, this is a good time to wander through possibilities. By allowing downtime, you’ve unlocked the door to creativity.

Secondly, be aware that you’re in a day dream. Being aware of the mind wandering, releases stress. In other words, take a vacation from the daily stressors! Give yourself permission to escape from the grind. Walk away and have a holiday!

Lastly, practice meditation! Meditation is a prescription to promote overall health. Meditation doesn’t have to take a long time. When you let your mind rest, your whole body is affected. In addition to boosting your creativity, meditation releases stress throughout the whole body. We all know what stress can do to the mind and body. It’s time to become acquainted with what it feels like to let go and destress!

Sex and the Mature Person, Part 3 by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

“This body isn’t that good,” my partner said on our first encounter.

“What’s wrong with it?” I said and then proceed to tell him what I like about his body.

Men are just as self-conscious about their bodies as women are. Additionally, don’t be fooled by the male facade of confidence they like to project. A man is more likely to hide his insecurities than a woman. After all, it’s not masculine to admit your concerns about your sexual abilities.

Sex & the mature man

Masculine energy is that of action. Men feel that they have to conquer and take charge. That’s sad. However, having said that, let’s dive into the mature male’s sexuality.

Men, don’t pay attention to the television ads about erectile dysfunction, performance, and lack of desire! It’s an ad! The purpose of the ad is to make you feel inadequate so you will buy their product. Statistics show men 70 years old and up have no problem in attaining an erection. The statistics read 75% of men over 70 are able to obtain an erection and maintain it. For the 25% who do have issues, there’s help.

In researching this article, I find it interesting that men as young as their mid thirties are concerned about endurance, keeping an erection for a long time, and keeping up with the woman in their life. Men in their twenties and thirties call their doctor’s office wanting the blue pill to help them maintain an erection longer. Shows you how well the ads are at brainwashing!

However, women don’t have the recovery time men do. Having said this, a woman can go to round two immediately. Therefore, if a woman likes to have a lot of sex, it’s more intimidating to the man. Yes, there are mature women who love having sex!

I find it distressing to see men place so much stress on themselves around sex. Men get out of your head! Stop overthinking it!

Mature men concerns

Men are concerned about the following:

  1. Size. Stop watching porn! It’s not real sex. Women are not that concerned about the size of your penis.
  2. Performance. Who came up with that anyway? The act of sex is not a performance! Remember that!
  3. Did I orgasm too soon? Did she have an orgasm? Just stop!
  4. Holding an erection for a long time.

In addition, to these concerns, a man is all up in his head about the mechanics of the sex act. Let’s address the above issues.

First, the size of your penis isn’t that important to a woman. I know that size, appearance, and the shape of a man’s penis is the epicenter of his insecurities and fears. What a woman wants is a man who’s experienced over the size of the penis. It’s not how big it is, but how he uses it!

Second, the way a man defines himself is his biggest obstacle! Again, sex is not a performance. It’s the sharing of emotions, energy, and connection that’s important. You are not responsible from your partner’s enjoyment! She’s responsible for her own pleasure. Remove that stress from the yourself and the relationship.

Then there’s the orgasm. Stop putting this as the focus of the encounter with your partner. In other words, you are putting yourself and your partner under a lot of pressure. As you focus more on the outcome, you’re making it harder for yourself and your partner. Just relax and enjoy the moment!

After that, you worry about holding an erection for a long time. Women don’t want you to wear yourself out! We’re not timing how long you can hold an erection. If you lose it, so what? It can be regained.

Factors affecting the mature man

Men, women could care less about how much body hair you have or don’t have. In addition, the female doesn’t think about the size of your hands or feet or the shape of your body. A genuine woman isn’t interested in how much hair you have on top of your head either. Some of us think bald is sexy.

Conditions affecting your general health and well-being can also affect your sexual health. Illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, hormonal problems, depression or anxiety can cause challenges to being sexually active.

In addition, the medications prescribed for the above health conditions can interfere with sexual response. If side effects from your medications are an issue, talk with your doctor about your concerns.

Next, surgical procedures that affects your pelvis and your central nervous system may have significant impact on your sexual response. There is a recovery time and in most cases the respond returns in time.

Dealing with obstacles as they arise

Differences in libidos are common among couples of all ages. It’s easy to become stuck in a rut when one person initiates intimacy while the other avoids it. If you mainly avoid sex, consider taking charge of some engagement. If you usually initiate sex, try talking with your partner about what you need. In those cases where one partner just isn’t interested in sex, I’m sorry.

Above all, talk with your partner! She can’t read your mind, even though she thinks she can. Communication is essential for any relationship, especially an intimate encounter. Use non-accusing words such as; I feel, I think, What do you feel or think…

Be open and honest, first with yourself about your needs and concerns. Then communicate these thoughts to the woman in your life.

What do women want?

Women want connection emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually with a partner. How do you do this?

  1. Slow down. Stay in the moment. Experience what’s happening in that moment. Don’t think ahead.
  2. Take your time. Don’t rush through foreplay. Enjoy the touch of your woman. Let her enjoy your touch. Touch is most sensual.
  3. Communicate what feels good to you. Help her to be proactive. Listen as she communicates her needs to you.
  4. Romance is not about flowers and dinners at a fancy restaurant. Romance is being present and attentive. There’s nothing sexier to a woman than knowing she’s being heard and listened to. Showing her respect will go a long way for her and you!
  5. Remember, sex starts in the mind, not in the head. Yes, there’s a big difference. Imagination goes a long way.

Women want to connect. Remember that! To connect to her man is important to a woman. Without connection, a woman can feel like the act of sex is more like a business arrangement. If that happens, the relationship will be short lived.

In conclusion, get out of your head! Slow down and stay in the moment! Connect with your woman!

Sex & the Mature Person Part 2, Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

If you believe the propaganda spewed out in television ads, we learn we are not enough. Ads for weight loss, for female hair loss, female sexual disfunction, ads telling us what we need to be a better person and on it goes…

Women take back your power!

Ladies, take back your power right now! “How do we do that?” you ask. First of all, stop watching ads on television! These advertisements try to make you think that the minority is the majority. In other words, the problems being targeted is for a small portion of the population. However, pharmaceutical companies want us to believe that women having discomfort while making love is the normal course of progression. It’s not!

First and foremost, love yourself! “How do I love myself?” you ask.

Stand in front of a mirror naked. Yes, I know that sounds horrifying! But, until you learn to make peace with your body, you journey to self respect will be a long and difficult one. Standing in front of the mirror naked is intimidating to most women. We see everything that we think is wrong with our body.

However, change your perspective and appreciate the things your body does for you. Feet and legs carry you through the day so you can accomplish the task that need to be done. Hips make it possible for you to swivel and sway. You know, that sexy walk, the one where heads turn. Next, your torso and back keep you erect. Arms embrace your loved ones to comfort. Be thankful for your breast! They nourished your children after birth in many cases. Look at your face, be grateful for the lips that speak your truth. See the light shinning from your eyes. Most of all, instead of looking at yourself from a critical point of view, learn to show yourself compassion!

However, society teaches young girls that if their body is not like that of a model, they are inadequate. In addition, girls are made to feel ashamed of their bodies. Similarly, we are disconnected from our body. Women have no idea how to connect to their body image. See the goddess you truly are!

Reasons to love your body

Venus, Aphrodite, Athena are depicted as full figured women. Statues of these goddesses show women with amble buttocks, breast and stomachs.

Somewhere along the way, the definition of a beautiful woman changed. For example, instead of seeing the beauty of a real woman’s body, full and round, images became distorted. Thin, boyish bodies are seen on the fashion runways. Barbie dolls are the image of what women are supposed to look like. How insane is that?! Women’s bodies are to look like a doll with unrealistic shapes! Really? Give me a break!

Throw out these ridiculous standards of what a woman should look like! Above all, be realistic and show compassion to yourself.

  1. Embrace the uniqueness of your shape. If all women were shaped the same, no one would stand out.
  2. Stop looking at the scales! Nourish your body with healthy food, enjoy the act of eating a meal!
  3. Looks change throughout our life time. See your beauty at each stage of life!
  4. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Look at yourself from a loving perspective. Beauty starts in your eyes!

However, one’s perception of your shape is the difference of what you see and what you think you should see.

Sexuality as a Mature Woman

After women pass through menopause, they may find that the hormonal changes have had an unexpected affect on the body. Women who enjoy having sex don’t lose interest or the desire for sex. But, there are changes that might need attention.

Don’t pay attention to the television ads from the pharmaceutical companies! If you believe the propaganda, then one thinks they need a pill for the changes brought on by aging. The propaganda makes us think that these changes are the norm for the majority of women. Rubbish!!!

Body changes

Having said this, let’s take a minute to look at the changes that the female body takes on.

  1. Hormones decrease. The vaginal wall becomes thinner and drier. This can make intercourse uncomfortable or in extreme cases painful. The vaginal cannel shortens and narrows. This can cause pain when you have sex. Lubed condoms, water-based lubricating jelly, and vaginal moisturizers most often is the remedy. Your doctor might also prescribe vaginal estrogen, which comes as a cream, a pill or tablet, or an insert.
  2. Diabetes contributes to changes in comfort. Women with this condition can experience less feeling in their genitals. Diabetes also causes more vaginal yeast infections, which can irritate the vagina and make it difficult or unpleasant to have sex. But this is easily treated.
  3. Heart disease. Women with heart disease worry about having a heart attack during sex. This rarely happens. You might find it hard to get aroused or have orgasms since the blood flow may be restricted. Your doctor will manage your heart condition. In doing so, ones ability to enjoy sex is improved.
  4. Other changes affecting your sex life can include: weight gain, arthritis, chronic pain, bladder control problems, dementia, high blood pressure or cholesterol, side effects from meds, depression, and stroke. Surgery, especially in sexual areas can affect your self-image and how you feel. Talk with your partner about ways you can stay close. Put aside caregiving roles when you can to focus on being a partner
  5. Talk with your doctor about sexual problems. The doctor isn’t likely to bring up the topic, they are usually uncomfortable with talking about sex with patients.
Making an attitude adjustment

Woman, get out of your head! Stop thinking about how you look naked! In other words, love your body as it is. For instance, recognize the beauty of your curves, appreciate the uniqueness of this magnificent feminine image. Touch this wonderful sensual womanhood that is you. Through touch one begins to know what makes them feel desire.

In addition, to touching the body and learning what pleasures you, know that through touch, you can help your partner to better stimulate you. Talk with your partner! Our partner isn’t a mind reader. They don’t have a crystal ball to give them the answers for better sex.

However, until there is open and honest conversation about sex, nothing will change. Speak up and tell your partner what sensations arouse you. Similarly, stay in the present moment. Stay out of your head.

Be Present

Stay in the moment. For instance, don’t be thinking about how you look while having sex. In addition, don’t be thinking that one has to rush to organism. Drop the expectations and goals burned into the mind.

Sexual desire starts in the mind not in the genitals. Yes, it’s true! Let go of control issues. Surrender to release. In other words, enjoy the sensations being felt in the moment. Above all, know that by being in the moment, you are one with the experience.

Communicate with your partner what he can do to help you relax further. However, by letting him know which touch feels more stimulating to you, he is being brought into the moment as well. He’s not responsible for your organism! Don’t put that burden on him! Therefore, as you communicate your needs, the pressure is removed from him. Move his hands where you want them to be. In other words, show him what turns you on! Be present and active in love making.

Owning who you are

Take charge of your body! By doing so, pleasure is increased. Men are attracted to a confident woman. In doing so, you are releasing the goddess within you. Unleash, this sensual woman! Stand firm in what you desire. Lead your partner to a more relaxed and connected encounter.

Above all, know that as you accept the beautiful woman you are, the stronger your self-esteem will be. Embrace the freedom that is gained by letting go of misconceiving ideas of society. Be strong in the love you have for yourself! It’s healthy!

Women have beautiful bodies! Each woman is unique! Love yourself first! In doing so, you are able to love others.

Summary

In conclusion, give yourself permission to leave behind preconceived ideas handed down for centuries. Love who you are and how you look. Women are powerful! Be grateful for the inner strength and embrace the wonderful creation you are! Therefore, the power for change is within you! Love the sensual, sexy woman you are! Your partner will appreciate it!

I am a strong, loving mature woman! Above all, I embrace the Divine Feminine within me. Further more, I love who I am. The journey wasn’t an easy one, but it was worth every struggle. Similarly, I know you have the strength to take this path to healthy self-love as well.

Remember, you are a beautiful, sexy woman! I’m told by a reliable source, men are just happy to be able to look at the beauty of a woman’s naked body.

Having said all this, men have their issues about body image as well. Part three is a discussion on men’s insecurities.

Sex and the Mature Person, Part One by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Sex is a taboo subject in the Western world. Sex is for the younger generation, not the mature person. Older people don’t have sex! Once you reach a certain age, your sex life is over.

Really?! We, as a society have to get over beliefs that no longer serve us. I’m not going to address society’s misconceptions and morals centering around sex. However, I am discussing the reality of the sex life as an older person.

Myths about older people and sex
  1. When you get older, you stop having sex
  2. Older men aren’t able to get an erection
  3. Older persons don’t have to worry about sexually transmitted diseases (STD)
  4. The mature woman doesn’t want sex, it hurts
  5. Mature bodies aren’t sexy
  6. Older men and women don’t have casual sex
  7. Sex can be dangerous for an older person
  8. It’s your respnsibility to make sure your partener has an organism
Really?

Where is it written as you age, you stop having sex? Studies show that mature adults in advanced years are having sex at least once a week. Not only are they still having sex, it’s reported that the sexual experience is more satisifying in advanced years. A person’s sexuality is always there. It’s a part of who you are. The desire doesn’t disappear just because you are older.

A study of men over the age of 70 shows that erectile dysfunction is not a problem for 75% of men. The erection may not be as firm and a little more foreplay may be needed, but they are able to enjoy the act of sex immensely.

Pregancy may not be a concern for the mature person, but STD is. Rates are doubling for STI’s in people who are in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.  Over the last decade infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are on the rise. So, yes mature people have casual sex.

As women go through menopause, their sexual desire may diminish slightly. But overall the sexual desire is there.

As we age, gravity takes over. Skin may sag and there may be a few extra pounds added to the body, but who doesn’t have body issues at any age?

Give me a break about sex being dangerous for the older generation! Yes, body parts may be needing replacement, such as knees and hips, but one can adapt to different positions during sex.

And lastly, it’s never been your responsibility to make sure your partner has an organism. It’s not about performance! Never has been.

Changing your attitude!

Society needs an attitude adjustment about sexuality in general. It’s time for an overhaul in the way society looks at sex in any age group.

Having said this, part two will cover women’s issues. We will explore the goddess within. Women have to reclaim their power as a woman!

Part three will take a look at men’s concerns and how men can over come these concerns.

Victory Gardens by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

During World War I and II several countries planted Victory Gardens. Communities planted fruit trees and vegetables for the troops and for their neighborhoods as well.

I live in a small town of 35,000 people. My neighborhood is only eight houses. We have a beautiful common area. My neighbors and I are talking about having a neighborhood garden next spring. We have some small trees and bushes that need to be replaced. We are adding fruit trees to replace the common bushes that are being taken out.

Gardens equal health

More people are telling me that they are not going back to the ‘rat race’. They are enjoying family time. Many have left social media, just as I have. I find I’m communicating with my family more than I was when I was on social media. Life is simpler. Stress is reduced.

Now to the home gardens. With the quarantine in place more home gardens have been made this past summer. I saw some beautiful vegetable gardens. The health benefits go beyond eating organic food.

Fresh vegetables taste better than produce in the grocery store. The other health benefits are being out in the fresh air. The exercise we do working in the soil exposes us to different movements with our body. Our muscles are sore after working outside in the fresh air.

To see new life coming forth as the tender plants push through the soil reaching towards the sun is satisfying. Children learn how food is really produced. However, they learn that gardening is hard work. Young ones learn working in the soil gives them a sense of accomplishment.

Natural Health

Instead of walking blindly through life, walk in nature, open your eyes! My intuition is sharper now that I am disconnected from the chaos. Above all, my connection to Spirit is stronger. Everyone is connected to Spirit and one another. Open your heart and receive your blessings!

Disconnect from the ‘rat race’ and reconnect with yourself, your family, and friends. Once you step into the natural life, you learn more about the world around you. For instance, mankind was close to nature in the past. Our ancestors were one with nature. Modern mankind has lost this connection.

Reconnect with yourself! Above all, align yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  After that, you notice your health is improved. One can’t be totally healthy unless we are aligned within ourselves, in all areas of our life.

In conclusion, take action to center yourself within and with nature. After that, enjoy the health benefits of being one with yourself and nature!
