Fear Makes The World Go Round by Janet Lynas Ph.D., N.H.D.

We like to think that love makes the world go round. After all there are numerous songs about love, how love makes the heart sing, how devastating lost love is. Love is the emotion that moves us forward, that inspires us. Or is it?

Fear as the motivator

I submit to you that fear is the most important emotion in your life. It’s the one emotion that all your decisions are made from.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about! I don’t live from fear!”, I hear you say.

Hear me out with an open mind as I present my case to you. Humans live in the past. Yes, you do. The decisions you make today are based on what has happened to you in the past. The past is what is comfortable to you. It’s from this knowledge base where the sense of comfort comes.

Humans think that we have to make a difference in the world. We have to be doing something all the time. If one is not doing something, then you’re being lazy. I have to make my mark on the world!

Humankind fears failure. Fear is the strongest emotion we encounter. It’s more powerful than love. What are you afraid of? Some say, “I’m not afraid of anything!” Others may say, “I’m afraid of snakes, rats, spiders, death.”  The list of anxieties are long.

Definition of fear
an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
Psychology of fear

The first thing one has to know is that fear is learned. Often as children, we take on the fears of our parents and family. Later we are influenced by the discomfort of our peers. These uneasy feelings are taught to us from birth. Fear of failure being the foremost emotion in our life. Similarly, being fearful can prevent one from taking chances and achieving success.

Some of the basic forms of distress include:

  1. Death. The fear of no longer existing and not knowing what lies beyond this human experience.
  2. Loss of control. We are afraid of bodily harm and that we will have to depend on others to take care of us. Being in a situation where control is taken away from us is terrifying. Commanding control is ingrained in us.
  3. Separation. The lie that is taught from birth is that one is separated from others and the Creator. I feel this is the biggest lie that humans buy into. Separation makes me feel lonely and anxious.
  4. Loss of self. Fear of one’s integrity and being doubted by others. Shame, humiliation and lost of self-respect. If I don’t know who I am, how can I function in life?
  5. Forfeiture of what had been accomplished. People are often afraid of losing what they have achieved in life, status, monetary gains, material status, and power.

How to change your life and move away from fear

However, is it possible to move out of living in fear? What steps do I take to move out of fearful living?

  1. Learn the difference between fear and being prudent.
  2. Reframe your thinking into being excited about the unknown.
  3. Rewire the brain. Take action to view life from a new perspective. Develop self-confidence and move forward with courage.
  4. Chose taking action over security. Security is a form of fear that prevents us from trying new experiences. Security keeps us in the past.
Take control of fear

How do I take control of the fear that keeps me in the past?

  1. Be in the moment. By being active in the moment, there is no time to let your imagination run wild on what might take place.
  2. Look at the fear realistically. What is the worse thing that can happen? Is it likely to happen? Most of the time we worry about things that never take place.
  3. Learn from past experiences. Having a plan on how to deal with a past situation will help you move forward.

Above all, remember you do not have to live in the past. Now is the time to move forward in your life with courage! In other words, rewire the brain and think outside of the box!

In conclusion, you are not your past! For example, the experiences of the past are learning tools to motivate one to move in a different direction and try a new way of doing things. After that, trust in yourself to make the best decisions based on the information you have on hand at the time. Therefore, we moved into the now moment and being in the now, the brain is rewired for new experiences.

The chains that held us in the past are broken. Now, you are living in the present which is a better place to be in!

Calanus Oil by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I first learned about Arctic Ruby Oil in 2012. I tend to wait for more research before I make up my mind on new information. So, let’s dive in and take a look at calanus oil.

Calanus finmarchicus

From the coast of Norway comes a marine oil, providing a highly bioactive form of marine fatty acids with additional features compared to conventional omega-3. Scientific documentation shows that it counteracts insulin resistance diabetes and obesity-induced metabolic disorders. It also exhibits a potent anti-inflammatory effect, helps lower blood pressure and is effective in reduction of cholesterol.

Reports state that calanus oil has better outcomes than fish oil or krill oil. It has the same benefits as conventional omega-3, however the wax esters from Calanus finmarchicus is shown to be richer in omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). EPA and DHA are shown to support the body’s ability to prevent chronic diseased and to protect against inflammation.

Other benefits noted are promotion of a stronger immune system, support in cardiovascular health, joint health, strengthen skin, hair and nail health. This highly enhanced nutrient absorption and metabolic function is also effective in attention, mood and memory abilities.

Calanus finmarchicus does not have the contamination with mercury that is found in fatty fish.

More Research Please

Recent studies, 2019, show that omega-3s impact virtually every aspect of our health. Marine oil benefits range from reduction of metabolic disorders to autoimmune disease.

So what is metabolic syndrome? Metabolic syndrome is a bundle of conditions that includes some combination of high blood pressure, belly fat, high blood sugar, and abnormal lipid profiles. Metabolic syndrome is associated with a sharp increase of risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Calanus oil supplementation has shown impressive results in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, a painful autoimmune disease for which conventional treatments tend to be difficult.

Omega-3s are critical in brain health. This includes the ability to form connections, retain impressions and memories. It is also associated with the brain’s ability to use glucose as fuel.

Supplementing with calanus oil can favorably alter brain structure and function. It does this by reducing age-related conditions associated with memory impairment, dementia, and neurodegenerative diseases.

What are the safety concerns?

There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking calanus oil if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

Other possible side effects can be bad breath, gastric disturbances, loose stools, or stomach upset.

As with any supplement, talk with your physician before starting a new product.

When Things Go Creak In The Night by Janet Lynas, Ph.D.,N.H.D.

I hyperextended my right knee the other day. As, a result, it’s difficult getting up from a sitting position. Not so much fun at all. This got me thinking more about joint health.

Are creaky joints for the elderly only?

Before we can talk about joint care, we need to review what makes up a joint. You can see we have many joints throughout our body. Our joints are in motion constantly which causes them to wear down. It’s like how your car tires wear away after the perpetual motion from the rubber hitting the pavement.

As a nurse, I saw people from all age groups with joint pain. I saw babies born with rheumatoid arthritis, athletes from elementary school to college with joint pain, young adults having joint replacements, to middle aged and elderly persons struggling with discomfort. Joint pain knows no boundaries.

What kind of joints do we have?

We have joints that move and junctions that have little or no movement. I’m going to address the intersections in our body that are more commonly known.

  • Ball-and-socket joints. Ball-and-socket joints, found in the shoulder and hip joints, allow backward, forward, sideways, and rotating movements.

  • Hinge joints. Hinge joints, those in the fingers, knees, elbows, and toes, allow only bending and straightening movements.

  • Pivot joints. Pivot joints, found in the neck joints, allow limited rotating movements.

  • Ellipsoidal joints. Ellipsoidal joints, being in the wrist joint, allow all types of movement except pivotal movements.

What makes up a joint?

Knowing what the connecting sections are made of helps us understand what can go wrong in the functioning of the body.

  • Cartilage. Is a type of tissue that covers the surface of a bone at a joint. Cartilage helps reduce the friction of movement within that junction.

  • Synovial membrane. Tissue called the synovial membrane lines the joint and seals it into a coupling capsule. The synovial membrane secretes a clear, sticky fluid (synovial fluid) around the joint to lubricate it.

  • Ligaments. Strong ligaments (tough, elastic bands of connective tissue) surround the joint to give support and limit the joint’s movement. Ligaments connect bones together.

  • Tendons. Tendons are strong connective tissue on each side of a joint attach to muscles that control movement of the joint. These connect muscles to bones.

  • Bursas. Fluid-filled sacs, called bursa, between bones, ligaments, or other nearby structures. They cushion the friction in a joint.

  • Synovial fluid. A clear, sticky fluid secreted by the synovial membrane.

  • Meniscus. This is a curved part of cartilage in the knees and other joints.

Why do our connecting intersections wear down?

Excessive use can wear the joints down. Overuse of the nexus is found in athletes who spend hours lifting weights and practicing their sport. Wear and tear is seen with professionals such as dancers who spend eight hours or more a day rehearsing.

Joint damage is seen in young children playing sport games such as soccer or football. Their growth plates get damaged and serious repercussions can be the results.

Stress on the joints can cause osteoarthritis, damage to the joint making it necessary to replace the connector.

Our hinges make sounds throughout ones life. However, when you have constant cracking along with pain, then it’s time to see a doctor.

Care of the joints

What can we do to support our body’s joints?

  1. Building the muscle tissue and ligament strength around the connections between the bones is essential for protection.
  2. Lose weight if you’re carrying around extra poundage. Excessive weight adds stress on the joints.
  3. Stretch! Gently stretch your muscles and body. Stretching exercise keeps the body limber.
  4. Low impact exercise such as walking or water aerobics will help keep your hinges strong without adding undue stress on the body.
  5. Eat a healthy diet. Selecting foods that nourish the body, gives your body the right fuel it needs to function properly.
  6. Make sure you take a good multivitamin with minerals to support the rebuilding process of ones body.

You have only one body! Taking care of it is important if you want to live an active lifestyle. Teach young people the proper way to care for their body so they can live a pain free life as they age.

I know many people well into their eighties and nineties who have no joint pain. I personally know many elderly persons who are not on medications because they lived a healthy lifestyle in their youth.

I live by the words of one of my beloved nursing teachers, “It’s easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix it.” So true! Eat healthy foods for your joints!

Ask & You Shall Receive by Janet Westley, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I talk often about ‘pay attention to what you think’. What you dwell on in your thoughts is what you manifest into your life. The thoughts you hold in your mind are the things you are asking for. So, ask and you shall receive.

This article is focused on mental health.

Strange Times

History is being made at this moment in time. A history that has only been experienced once before in world recordings. The historical flood of Noah’s time is the only other event that I know of that has affected the whole earth. Noah and his family were in quarantine. The entirety of mankind is in quarantine now. Yes, there have been other events of major turns in history. However, I’m talking about humans being isolated in every country around the globe.

Emotions are running high around the earth at this time. On April 4, 2020 the whole planet came together in meditation and prayer. The result was that the recording of the Shumann Resonance was 71! Normal frequency is 7.83 to 14.

This energy is running high during other mediative gatherings around the world. On the last group mediation the energy level was 68. The vibration of the earth is humming at new heights.

You are living in an exciting time in history! Change is here and now.

Change is now!

For decades we have talked about pollution, cleaning up the waters and air. Yet, we have not really done anything about it. The insanity continued. We continued to do the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Nature has taken control! Humankind has not acted responsible so we have been grounded. The car keys have been taken away by Mother Nature so to speak. In this moment in time, world wide quarantine is in place. Change is now. Life will never go back to the way it was. That is a blessing!

Momentum is moving us forward

The momentum is moving us forward. We will move forward like it or not. Now is the time to receive the blessings you have been asking for. It’s easier to float downstream than it is to paddle upstream. Go with the flow of universal energy. Take the path of least resistance!

Quieten your mind. Focus your mind on the stillness within. Listen to ‘white noise’, center on your breathing. Be still. Feel what your inner being is noticing. The emphasis may be on the emotions you’re feeling, bodily sensations, or the environment within.

People throughout the planet are being forced into a corner, our back is against the wall! How are you going to respond to this moment in time? Are you responding or reacting?

What are you thinking?

Your thoughts are your responsibility! Are you living in fear? Why? The more you think on fear, the more anxiety will be in your life. Do you not realize that this fear is an illusion? One will experience fear, anxiety and panic to the extent that you focus on it. Feelings are out of control! Why? Each person who dwells in the fear is bringing forth that reality. This world is being created by your thoughts.

On April 4, 2020, when the whole planet came together in meditation and prayer, the energy resonance was one of peace, love, joy. As we gave attention to what was going on during this moment, Mother Earth began to heal. Pollution of the air and water is clearing. The earth is resting and healing. But, more importantly, the people of the world came together as one! We are in control of how we feel! What energy are you going to sit in?

Are you in tune with who you are?

As the people of the earth have come together to align one with another, wonderful change is now occurring! Fear was high in the beginning of this quarantine. Did you become fearful? Did you let your imagination take hold of you and run wild?

The flu has killed 100 times more people than the coronavirus. So, is your fear justified? Misinformation is spreading like wildfire. Are you falling into the fear trap?

Step out of this energy of fear. It serves no purpose. Step into the energy of love and feel the change come over you.

Practice what you preach!

I have talked about going inside of yourself in previous articles, getting to know yourself is of utmost importance. Do I practice what I preach? Yes, I do.

I mediate daily. It may be for just a few moments or for a longer period of time. It just depends on the information I’m receiving. I usually start my day out in mindful thought before I get out of bed in the mornings. This practice is repeated at night as I am winding down from the day’s activities. On occasion, I’m called to take a few moments out to focus, realign with myself and God energy.

You have been given a most unique opportunity. Take advantage of it. Now is the time to really get to know yourself. In living mindfully, one learns to pay attention to their thoughts. To be aware.

The other day I was feeling irritated. There was no reason for me to feel angry. I decided to sit in the emotion for a few moments and to listen to what I needed to know. Asking myself basic questions, “What is it that you are feeling? Why?” As, I anchored into the emotion I was feeling at the time, a realization began to come forward. I had personal insight move to the foreground. Realizations that I had been pushing into the background.

How do you deal with emotions?

First of all, by taking the time to acknowledge my emotions, I was supporting my mental health. To deny emotions and feelings is not healthy. We don’t want to admit that our emotions are not always happy. It makes us feel like we’re not being positive when emotions are running low. Where is it written that we have to be feeling happy all the time?

Next, one has to realize that emotions are not good or bad. Emotions just are. It’s what is being experienced at that moment. If someone has said or done something that has triggered a strong response from you, ask yourself why? Usually, when we have a severe reaction to an individual, it’s because that person has mirrored a part of our personality that we don’t want to admit we have.

Rather than thinking we have to be happy, loving and kind all the time, embrace all of your emotions. But, remember not too dwell on the emotions that cause us to fall into a never ending loop of fear or anxiety.

Lastly, you are the creator of your world! Because our thoughts create the reality to be experienced, it’s important to pay attention to what you’re thinking.

Do You Know Who You Are? by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I received a phone call one day last week from a friend. She told me that she was lonely. I asked her what she had done that day and she responded by telling me all the people she had talked with so far that day. I was the 5th or 6th person she had called.

Social media is booming right now with so many people being home. I noted a posting from a former classmate stating she was feeling lonely. This particular past classmate is raising a seven year old grandson. She has been posting photos of activities she and her grandson are doing at home. She’s also homeschooling this child now that everyone is in quarantine.

I can’t help but wonder why people feel lonely during this time-out we are all in.

Loneliness vs Isolation

Why is it that people feel lonely when they are surrounded by other people? How do we understand the underlying motivation to our loneliness? What is the difference between being lonely and feeling isolated?

The first lie we’re told is that we are separated from God. In reality, that’s not true. Each of us are connected to I AM THAT I AM. This is not what I want to talk with you about. But, keep in mind, this is an underlying factor to loneliness.

I’m lonely

The short definition of lonely is: sad because one has no friends or company. So, if you have friends and you have communication with them, why are you lonely? Where is that feeling of loneliness coming from? I understand being in a relationship and feeling lonely, even though that person was with me. It’s not a good feeling to have.

You can be in someone’s company, but if there is no connection mentally, physically or emotionally, one can certainly feel aloneness.

I’m sure you remember reading about babies during World War II who where in an orphanage and these babies were dying even though they were being cared for. These babies were feed, diapered, sheltered, and given what they needed for survival. Yet, they were failing to thrive and many died. As it turned out, the orphanage was short staffed. These babies didn’t have the physical contact of touch and human interaction. They died because of lack of human touch and contact.

We’re not babies who need the extra touching and cuddling to thrive. Yes, as adults, we still need human contact, but I want to dig a little deeper. What is the emotional and spiritual component that is being overlooked?

Isolation

The definition of isolation is: being separated from other people, segregation, quarantined.

Notice the main difference between lonely and isolation is the word ‘sad’. Both definitions are similar, but the subtle difference is how one feels.

Above, we talked about being with someone and feeling lonely because of lack of connection with that person. The lack of connection can come from not having common interest to growing apart from each other.

Many marriages have failed because couples didn’t marry for the right reasons. The foundation for these marriages is loneliness. People don’t like being alone; so they get married. Several years into the marriage they find being with someone and still being lonely is often worse than being by ones self. Loneliness is a weak foundation for a marriage. It’s a weak foundation for any relationship.

Who am I?

The majority of people on earth don’t really know themselves. Hold on before you tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about!

Men tend to identify themselves through their jobs. They see themselves by what they do. The profession gives the man his identity in life. Men judge themselves by how well they are able to provide for their families. The provider and protector.

Women on the other hand are not that dissimilar. We judge ourselves by how well we care for our families and by our professions as well. Nurture and caregiver.

However, do you really know who you are? What are your core values? I’m not talking about the values that we are taught by our parents and society. If you examine those values you were taught as a child, you may find that they don’t register with you. We are taught who we are as children by what others tells us about ourselves.

“You’re such a sweet girl. You never cause any problems.”

“You’re a great athlete! You’ll go far in life!”

“Do you know how smart you are? You can do anything in life.”

Or just the opposite: “Why can’t you do anything right?”

“If you lose some weight, you’ll get a boyfriend.”

Forget about what you’ve been told!

Release the programing from your childhood. These beliefs are what others think about you. Pay attention to your self-talk. What are you telling yourself? Are you still stuck in the programing of your youth? Let it go!

Take this time while we are all in quarantine to learn who you really are. What are your strengths? Your weaknesses? Remember what you think of as a weakness is really a strength.

How do I learn who I am?

Good question! But, keep in mind to know one’s self is an ongoing process. Humankind is always evolving and growing. No one is the same today as you were ten years ago. That person you were ten years ago has had ten years of new experiences which has changed you.

Let’s get started on this journey of self discovery.

Be honest with yourself. There is no right or wrong here. No one else needs to see what you have written down about yourself.

  1. Know your own personality. Are you optimistic? Pessimistic? Happy or sad?
  2. What are your core values are. What’s important to you? How do you relate to these values to your lifestyle? Are you self condemning or do you show yourself compassion when you mess up?
  3. Get to know your own body. Do you listen to your body? Your body does talk to you. Have you stopped long enough to ask your body what it  need to flourish? When was the last time you treated your body to a nourishing moment of rest?
  4. Get to know your dreams. What is your heart’s desire? How badly do you want it? If you had your heart’s desire, how would your life be different?
  5. What are your likes and dislikes. Believe it or not, most of us only think we know what we like and don’t like. For years I thought I didn’t like asparagus. I didn’t like the asparagus in a can, but when I tasted fresh steamed asparagus, I loved it!

Think about these things listed above. Really take the time to think about what you value in life. Not what others have told you that you should cherish. Write down your thoughts, it helps you to better identify who you really are. Seeing what you think in writing helps you to be more honest with yourself.

The first step is the most important step in self discovery!

Moving forward can be difficult, especially if you don’t really know who you are.

“I don’t know how to take the first step”, you say. “What do I do?”

  1. Get quiet and focus on your breathing. Just focus on how you’re breathing. Breath from your diaphragm. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. If you’re breathing from the diaphragm (like we are supposed to be) your stomach will rise higher than your chest.
  2. Take a deep breath in slowly and release it slowly. As you breath in feel your muscles relaxing. Breathing out slowly and let go of the stress you’ve been carrying around.
  3. Ask yourself, “What do I need to know?” Listen to that inner voice as it gives you your answer. Trust what you hear.
In summary

Open your mind and heart. Dump out old programming. Clean house so to speak. Throw out those beliefs that were feed to you as a child. Once you clear out the clutter, you will have space for your own beliefs. This is the beginning of a new love affair with yourself.

Being lonely is not a bad thing. Being lonely is however, your inner-self calling out for self-care. Take advantage of this isolation and get to know the wonderful person you truly are.

Sugar, Sugar by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

I’ve had a couple of request to expand on the benefits of Himalayan salt and diabetes. However, I have decided to address other natural remedies in this article for a more rounded talk. Never fear, I will address Himalayan salt as well.

This is not your average diabetes information

I love my 85 year old dad, but he’s from the generation that takes what the doctor tells him as gospel. You know how it is with family… Anyway, I recently learned to my surprise and amazement, that he has been taking cinnamon capsules to help control his type II diabetes.

I had had a discussion with my dad about one of his diabetic medications and the adverse side effects. When I worked for the Veterans Administration (VA) the recommendation to their doctors was not to use this particular prescription. I’m not going to name medications in this article for legal reasons. As always I recommend you consult with your physician about your concerns with medications.

Dad reported to me that to his surprise (not mine) that he is able to have better control over his glucose numbers since using cinnamon capsules. My dad likes to have cookies for breakfast. He can eat what he wants since my mom passed eight years ago.

So, how does cinnamon help in controlling diabetes? The short answer is:

Cinnamon may help lower blood sugar and fight diabetes by imitating the effects of insulin and increasing glucose transport into the cells. It can also help lower blood sugar by increasing insulin sensitivity, making insulin more efficient at moving glucose into cells.

In people with type 2 diabetes, we know the cells resist the effect of insulin. As a result glucose doesn’t get into the cells and builds up in the blood instead. Cinnamon contains several chemicals that stimulate insulin receptors so glucose can get into cells and that means levels in the blood go down.

How much cinnamon do you take?

Studies vary on how effective cinnamon is on the control of glucose levels. Objective studies need to be done. It’s hard to find solid evidence base practice studies in any area of natural health.

Taking at least 1g, but no more than 6g of cinnamon daily might reduce fasting glucose levels by almost 30 percent. Another interesting fact is that it may reduce triglyceride levels and total cholesterol levels as well. Because cinnamon may have a drastic effect on your diabetes, always consult your doctor before adding cinnamon to your diet as part of your diabetes treatment plan.

Is one kind of cinnamon better than the others? It’s believed, Ceylon cinnamon, also known as “true” cinnamon, might be better to moderate blood sugar levels after meals and help control type 2 diabetes.

Himalayan Salt and Diabetes

Himalayan crystal salt is the natural form of salt.  Pink Himalayan salt is a lot healthier than iodized salt. It is also known to help prevent diabetes because it aids with the absorption of food from the digestive tract. With better absorption it also helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels.

Table salt also contains a stabilizer in the form of sugar, which will raise your blood sugar levels. (Remember, Shake & Bake? Many of my diabetic clients experienced spikes in glucose because they did not read the label. It contained sugar.) This makes unrefined sea salt a better choice. If you’re diabetic, it’s a better choice because it does not contain any unnatural ingredients which can raise  sugar levels. Nor does it contain aluminum.  Always read the labels on food packages.

Other Natural Remedies

So, what are some of the best recommendations? Here are a few additional points.

  • 1. Antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that prevent cellular damage caused by free radicals. Although they’re most noted for their ability …
  • 2. Chromium.
  • 3. Coenzyme Q10.
  • 4. Fenugreek.
  • 5. Fish Oil.

There are foods which can help in control of diabetes as well. Spinach, kale and other leafy greens are good sources of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C. Increasing vitamin C intake reduces inflammatory markers and fasting blood sugar levels for people with type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure.

I encourage you to explore the natural health approach as a tool to improve your health.

How Are You Doing? by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

We are living in uncertain times. The unknown can play havoc on us emotionally. So, how are you doing mentally and emotionally during this world crisis? I’m not going to talk about the Coronavirus that is affecting the world. What I am going to talk about is the mental health of the world.

Global Reset

Basically, we’re experiencing a global reset. Life will never be the same. That can be exciting or it can be frightening. For me, it’s exciting!  If you have been following my blog, you know that I am an optimistic person.  My cup is full and overflowing!

It’s from this perspective that I want to talk with you.  Being in quarantine for whole countries is not a new event. The last national quarantine for the U.S. was in 1918, to curtail the Spanish Flu. However, this event is worldwide.  Let’s look at the implications on this world event.

Quarantine, a Time for Self Care

We have the power to chose and the power to decide where we are going to place our focus. One has to feel in control of their life. What outlet are you using to help you care for your mind, your mental health?  Your are in control of your thoughts. Use this time to learn about yourself!  Be an active participant in your own life!  Where does your pleasure come from? This is a good time to learn something new.  A time to get to know where your interest lie. Once we feel mentally strong, we feel empowered.

A few years back, there was a term “cocooning”. The goal was to be able to work from home. People were tired of the “rat race”! Many people were able to get their bosses on board with working from home. Productivity actually improved as individuals were allow to work from home. Stress was reduced on people since they didn’t have to fight the traffic to get to work. Companies learned that with happier employees, productivity increased.

Now is a good time for self care.  Get the extra rest you need!  Read that book you’ve been wanting to read. Clean your house or apartment. Get outside on nice days and feel the sunshine! The fresh air will help you.

We’re All in This Together!

The entire world is in the same boat. We are having deep changes throughout the world. Countries are already bankrupt and have been for a while. There are enough resources, we have to realize that now is the time to come together!

Now is the time for all countries to come together and to work together!  Maybe, we should be looking at a Year of Jubilee. The Jewish community had this reset built into their history, into their way of life.  Every aspect of every country’s core has been a mess. This chaos and uncertainty is a wake up call!

The peoples of the world need to step up and do some housecleaning in our governments. We want better cooperation between the different governments. It’s  time especially in the U.S., to clean house in our government. There needs to be cooperation in our government. There has been no cooperation for decades! The time is now for a new way of doing things.  These are the things we are able to change.  We are empowered to make the changes for the better.

Once government leaders throughout the world realize that working together is preferred over greed and power, life will move ahead in a better direction.

The slate is clean. Fill the seats with cooperation and mutual respect for each other!

What is Your Self-Talk?

You are not the only one who is having to deal with interrupts in income.  All of your neighbors are in the same situation. Now is the time to realize that the fear is an illusion in the sense of survival.  Are you telling yourself you’re going to be out on the street and homeless soon?  Why?  What good will it do for landlords to evict people from their homes?  For banks to foreclose on houses?  These buildings will set empty because everyone else is facing the same challenge with the disruption of income, so why would a landlord or mortgage company evict you?

Step out of the fear of the unknown and deal with what is.  Take steps to help yourself and your family by doing the chores that need to be done.  Stay active in doing what you do have control over.  You have control over your emotions.  One can control how they act in a situation.  What you don’t want to do is react to a situation.  When you react, you are ‘shooting for the hip’ so to speak.

Neighbors helping neighbors is the foundation our country was built on.  It’s a strong foundation.  But, somewhere along the way, it became every man for himself.

Remember the saying, “Divided we stand, divided we fall”.  The choice is ours. Are we going to stand?  Or are we going to fall?  Chose wisely.

Living in Harmony with Gaia by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Before the invention of electricity, the human population lived in harmony with the earth. Always connecting with her daily and seasonal cycles for our own natural cycle of life.

Grounding

The term ‘grounding or earthing’ is often used in conversations to describe being in connection with the vibration of the planet. Walking barefoot on the ground or sitting on the ground connects us to Mother Earth. The most straightforward way to ground one’s self is to simply make contact with the ground on either the dirt or concrete, which is also conductive. You don’t necessarily have to be barefoot, but you do need to have on shoes with leather soles for the earth’s vibration to penetrate into your feet.

Swimming in a large body of water is another way to consume mass amounts of positive earth energy. This is why doctors in past centuries recommended to patients who were in need of healing from serious health conditions go to the sea or ocean. Sitting on the beach near a large body of water exposes the body to the ions needed for healing.

There is no negative consequence to grounding or earthing.  Being in communion with the earth provides the opportunity to benefit one’s overall health and well-being.

Being in balance with the energy of All-There-Is brings many health benefits such as less anxiety, better sleep, reduced pain, and overall improved health. Walking in nature helps to expand the lungs with fresh air as we breathe in deeply during our hike. Circulation of the blood brings in more oxygen which in turn helps to clear the cobwebs from the mind.

Disconnection from Earth

Research shows everything alive responds to the subtlest changes in the magnetic and electromagnetic fields surrounding it. It appears we are creating an environment that is out of tune with nature itself. Technology has provided conveniences, but in doing so has created interference with the natural vibrational frequencies caused by the super accelerator inventions of modern day life.

There has been an increase in the number of people suffering from autoimmune diseases and other chronic conditions. Losing touch with the earth and no longer being nourished by our land has contributed to an increase of:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Lupus
  • Inflammatory bowel disorders
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Chronic headache
  • Irritability

The truth is, we have become disconnected from our source of life. We’re ungrounded and we are literally no longer in touch with the Earth. Is this disconnection a major contributing factor in the increase of illnesses noted above?

Benefits of Earthing

Benefits of being one with the earth include:

  • Inflammation has been linked to nearly every degenerative disease recorded — cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, glaucoma, autoimmune disorders, cancer and many more. Grounding reduces chronic inflammation and related chronic pain
  • Earthing neutralizes the free radicals in our bodies, significantly reducing oxidative stress and readily helps us to recover from injuries, trauma and exhaustion
  • Earthing is recommended for anyone who has an auto-immune condition
  • Grounding affects your DNA immediately
  • When you ground to the electrons enriched in the earth, there is an improved balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
  • Enhances circulation, which leads to increased energy
  • Earth is the natural antidote for electron deficiency and achieving a healthy balance in the body
  • Improved sleep
  • Reduces hormonal and menstrual symptoms

Go barefoot for a half-hour or so outside and see what a difference that makes on your pain or stress level. Sit, stand, or walk on soil, grass, sand, or concrete. These are all conductive surfaces from which your body can draw the Earth’s energy. Wood, asphalt, and vinyl are not conductive. Ditch the shoes made with plastic or rubber as much as possible. When you take these steps, you may discover how much better you feel. You may notice the reduction in pain, anxiety and that you are sleeping better.

After a time, the communion between your body, mind, and emotions with the earth will bring a shift in your inner and outer worlds. You will begin to feel aligned and balanced with your body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Being balanced within and outward brings a sense of wholeness and peace to oneself.

Why is our lifespan so short? by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

Before Noah’s flood, life was so different than it is now.

Genesis 1:20 makes this clear when it states that the birds will fly above the earth and over the face of the firmament. Therefore, at the original Creation, a water canopy in the stratosphere, above the sky (the firmament) was in place. After Noah’s Flood this water canopy in the stratosphere was removed, and the water became part of the waters from the Flood of Noah, this occurred approximately 4,400 years ago. The water canopy in the stratosphere is therefore no longer present.

Why is this important? It’s important for us to understand the changes in the earth’s atmosphere before the flood and after the flood. Because, as you see, these changes affected life on earth in a way that has profoundly changed the history of the planet including how life on earth evolves and survives.

The Greenhouse Effect

The water layer in the stratosphere was very dissimilar in comparison to what it is today. The temperature was probably much warmer also it had no variation of temperature over the entire planet. It created a “green house” over the entire earth. Because of the greenhouse effect from the vapor canopy in the stratosphere being in place, earth was a tropical paradise.

Perhaps, this explains why the discovery of Mammoths preserved in the permafrost in Siberia had tropical vegetation in their stomachs.  Earth was, if you will, a greenhouse, a tropical paradise beyond anything we could ever imagine.

Before the flood there would have been a richer concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the stratosphere. The water canopy in the stratosphere would have drastically increased the pressure of gases on Gaia, causing a 50% higher concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide.  This evidence is supported by experiments preformed on fossilize tree sap known as amber.

The Greenhouse Effect on Humans

Because of the higher oxygen levels in the stratosphere, there would be higher blood oxygen levels in life on earth. The higher blood oxygen levels at that time would have contributed to extreme longevity. There would be resistance to bacterial and viral diseases. One would have greater metabolic efficiency, which would consequently greatly enhance physical ability.

Before the flood the average lifespan was 912 years. Today the average lifespan is between 71 years and 83 years of age. This is a large contrast in life expectancy on the planet before the flood and also including afterwards. We are dying as infants in comparison to our predecessors.

As our atmosphere changed, the face of the earth began to change.   With the formation of the oceans plus the seas, carbon dioxide dissolved to form soluble carbonate compounds and when this happened the amount in the atmosphere was decreased. Carbon dioxide was also absorbed from the oceans together with the seas into photosynthetic algae and plants.

What we have to remember is that earth’s atmosphere has gone through a number of changes with temperature along with composition in the last 4.5 billion years. About 3 or 4 billion years ago, a bacteria-like life form discovered photosynthesis and began to give off oxygen as a poisonous waste. Everything living at that time was poisoned causing death all over the planet. This photosynthetic prokaryotic organism that emitted O2 as a waste was a precursor to what we now call blue-green alga. After more than a billion years of these bacteria-like things making oxygen, a life form evolved that was able to breath it. Soon after this evolution, mankind arrived.

Our connection to Earth

Mankind has lost touch with our Mother-Who-Nurishes-Us. We no longer hear her song as she quietly hums to us. Humans no longer feel her heartbeat because we have lost touch with her energy. Lost is the connection of oneness you and I once had with Mother Earth. As one has isolated themselves inside concrete buildings, lost altogether is the attachment to Mother’s healing energy.

This conversation will continue in another installment. We will learn more how our health is affected by Earth’s song and vibrational energy.

The Castration of the Male Figure by Janet Lynas, Ph.D., N.H.D.

For several decades society has portrayed the male as being impotent and weak. Television portrays the male as being stupid and making poor decisions. I find this distressing.

The Male Definition

: an individual of the sex that is typically capable of producing small, usually motile gametes (such as sperm or spermatozoa) which fertilize the eggs of a female

: having a quality (such as vigor or boldness) sometimes associated with the male sex

I especially like the second definition as having vigor or boldness. In this topic, I am speaking from the natural health aspect of maleness. What happens when society demeans men? How does this affect the health of the man? What effect does this have on the health of relationships? How does this affect our society?

In the traditional role, the man is the provider for the family by earning the money to meet the financial needs of the family. He is expected to provide information and guidance on various topics. Within this role, there is an implication of power and being dominate over the female and children making the man to be a tyrant.

When did strength become a bad quality? I’m not talking about the misuse of strength, but strength as a quality one looks for in a man to protect his family.

In nature, the strong male gets the female. This strength is what attracts the female when she is looking for a mate. Survival of the species. It holds true in humans as well, even though society tries to play the strength card down.

Men were taught not to show emotions. To be a man, one had to be tough and stoic. Crying was a sign of weakness in a man. Father’s were often not very involved with the children, or at least not in the television sitcoms.

What changed?

Feminism roared into the 1970s changing the world as a whole. Instead of balancing the role of females into daily life, feminism went too far. We castrated men during the upheaval. Women became radical and at times rabid. Feminism went too far!

I feel that the radical changes undermined the family unit and men’s role in the community. Hopefully this century will continue to balance the roles of men and women.

In this century, there seems to be a partnership between the sexes. Men are more involved with the family. They are taking a more active role in child rearing. I’m seeing more men step-up to the plate, so to speak, to take on the leadership in the family. Leadership is not being dominate, but is considering what is best for the family and taking in the advice of the spouse.

How is the health of society affected?

As the public weakened the role of men, it weakened the family unit. Disrespect of the man’s role contributed to the crumbling seen in the behavior of children in years past. Discipline was seen as child abuse and parents were afraid to set limits on their children. Rioting and destruction of property was seen on television when people did not get their way.

America is seen as a weak nation around the world when children are not disciplined and allowed to do what they pleased. The United States is no longer united as the strength of the man was dissolved. We are a nation of self-absorbed individuals who are narcissistic and immature.

What does the future look like?

While the role of men has changed, the definition of man’s place in society has not changed. There has to be a new definition of the family unit’s role as it is now seen.

We can’t weaken the status of men or women in the functioning of family interactions. Both men and women have their strengths and each should be celebrated.

A man’s responsibility is paramount in maintaining a healthy community. Today’s man has a newfound strength as he is more involved with the family. It’s time for a new definition of what a man is. Celebrate the men in your life. Show them the respect they deserve.
